Velcro backing: It’s extremely durable, easily put together and pulled apart, its washable and will last forever. It comes with two parts, one containing small hooks and the other one round holes which makes them stick together easily and firmly.

Iron-on backing: This type of patch has special adhesives on the back which allows it to stick to any material simply by ironing it at 160-220 degrees Celsius (320-430 Fahrenheit). However, you shouldn’t wash it more than 20 times. If you wish for Iron-on backing to last forever, you can sew it on. This type of patch is typically used on bags, backpacks, boxes and other places that are not washed often and it can last forever even without sewing them.
